Weekly Photo Challenge: Unusual Point of View

weekly photo challenge:unusual point of view

I took this challenge as a chance to share something new and very unusual for where I live, on Cortes Island, and to share a point of view. As of yesterday, this island of 1000 year round residents just got yellow lines on our roads, a very UNUSUAL sight. My personal point of view of this very new concept for the island is that I think it is grand. On a daily basis, locals and visitors (which there were a lot of this summer) have a tendency to forget that the roads are two way and that there are bikes, pedestrians, dogs, and, possibly the most dangerous of all, deer using the roads too. We hope these strange new yellow lines keep people from cutting corners or veering off of the right side of the street. haha, I just laugh, it seems so strange, as someone who has come from the city of Vamcouver, B.C. With that said, I just recently had a friend come to visit and help me hang my first solo art show, which I’ll chat about tomorrow, and he thought it was strange that we had no yellow lines. Well, Robert Skot McMillain, we do now.
