Rare Sight

Living on Cortes Island for 5 years now this is a rare sight of white fluffy beautiful snow.We made snowballs that stuck together ,dog walked with lots of joy  and the scenery looked gorgeous. We endure many types of weather here ,lots and lots of sunshine ,some crazy windy storms and of course rain as it is The West Coast of B.C. Canada. We ever so often have had a freak snow fall but to be honest it’s usually pretty slushy and does not stick to the ground.I share my back yard from Jan.5th 2016.This is a lot of snow for us and yes we all feel for the souls that have many feet of it right now.Except the mountains of course!!Our island is not really prepared for such conditions. So we have been in lock down due to lack of salt for the roads and power outages which caused some minor fires from sparks of fallen wires. But the zoo and I had a lot of fun in the snow yesterday. To all a safe warm Wednesday hug someone and be creative xoxoxo Laura
