I have become very fond of working in the medium of textile art as of late, and I plan on continuing to explore and create in this medium. I am loving the process of naturally dyeing cloth and wool, and then knitting with the fruits of my labour. I plan on spending the next few months experimenting with this process. At the moment, I am busy creating bandanas and wrist art, which you can view on the web page I have dedicated to it (here) an in my Etsy store, linked below! I have been having so much fun working on my store and I keep adding new items all the time, as this is my focus for Spring and Summer as I hope to be crafting many new items to share and sell. Of course, my plans also include gardening, skool (and yes, I do mean to spell it like this!) and as much beach time as possible. In the last few years, my focus has been art installations with their many deadlines and logistics. I am happy to take a step back from these pressures and have fun living in a more fluid way. After this hiatus, I do plan on creating a new art installation – which will include some new techniques – to share something very fresh in 2018. Stay tuned and check out my Etsy store. I wish everyone a wonderful Spring!!! xoxo

Everyone is talking about resolutions this time of year. Personally, I like to take the month of January to put some goals into action and prepare for new adventures on my horizon instead. I find that taking this kind of action in my life doesn’t bring on as much stress as the word “resolution” does – because we all know that life brings enough of that all on its own.
So here are some of my goals: Take more time to enjoy life to the fullest; continue to work towards being the strongest, healthiest and most energetic person I can be (which includes getting a handle on my smoking habit, and No! I did not say quit!); learn some new art techniques, and put as many smiles on as many faces around the world as possible through my art and this blog.
Now for the adventures part: I have a new art installation in the making called “Sense that Sin”; I have started a new venture called BalducciArt which is my newfound passion of creating in 3D through textile art – you will find a new page on my website just for them and will hear more about them in one of my posts… And as many of you might know, I have taken a position of co-producer with Expose Yourself (an art exhibition in Powell River) which is starting to shape up as a promising adventure you won’t want to miss! Stay tuned to get all the details as I will be sharing them as they unfold (or check out our website to learn how to SUBmit at https://eyexhibition.com).
On a more personal level, I am planning adventures at sea by spending as much time as possible exploring the water via boat and paddle board; I am determined to attend as many workshops as possible to keep exploring the infinite possibilities of art, and to take a trip somewhere with my sweetheart (in a plane) to deepen our common love of taking adventures together… and while I am at it, I will take this opportunity to share my philosophy for 2017: “It takes approximately 165 muscles to frown and only 6 to smile.” I know how I will choose to share my energy; do you?
