Cynthia  is the 11th installation of 13 from The Other-Side presents That Wall art project. Each installation is unique in its own way and features art on both sides, as well as their own song on a soundtrack that was created to make them all come alive.

Cynthia is a very friendly gal; she is the type of person who will help you read your map and find your way if you are lost. She is cheerful even when things are tough and a real goddess when life shines bright. Cynthia is handmade from polymer clay and is one of a kind. The book she is reading is crafted from a map of the West Coast of British Columbia. Her outfit is made out of an old vintage jacket I found at a garage sale (from the 60’s, I believe!) The other side of her piece is my interpretation of graffiti art which I created using spray paint, acrylic paint and collage.

Each installation is for sale and comes with its own soundtrack. In order to experience the full effect of the installation, please check out the music video below which will take you on a journey through the full show. You can also read the stellar review the show garnered for a deeper insight into the experience!!! Feel free to share and please, contact me for more info such as availability and pricing.

Ulfah  is the 10th installation of 13 from The Other-Side presents That Wall art project. Each installation is unique in its own way and features art on both sides, as well as their own song on a soundtrack that was created to make them all come alive.

Ulfah is a very affectionate person; whenever she meets anyone, she will always greet them with a hug, and possibly even a kiss on the cheek as she loves to spread the love! The affection she feels for this planet we live on together is felt by all, including all 4-legged creatures. She has that something special about her that makes some people mistakenly think she is being too intimate but really, it’s just simple love she exudes and spreads. Ulfah is handmade out of polymer clay; her outfit is naturally dyed with onion skins and her belt with indigo. Her hair has been crafted one piece at a time from many different scraps of wool found at the free store on Cortes Island. The other side of her piece is my interpretation of graffiti art which I created using spray paint, acrylic paint and collage.

Each installation is for sale and comes with its own soundtrack. In order to experience the full effect of the installation, please check out the music video below which will take you on a journey through the full show. Allegra is the 7th installation of 13 from The Other-Side presents That Wall art project. Each installation is unique in its own way and features art on both sides, as well as their own song on a soundtrack that was created to make them all come alive.

Allegra  is the cheerful one; the one who makes visions come alive! She has been around for decades sharing her thoughts with many, giving them the power to live their dreams in the world they desire. Allegra is handcrafted out of polymer clay, her dress is naturally dyed light pink and lined on the outside with a recycled shawl for accent, her hair is made out of Alpaca wool and her boots are finished with nail polish to give them sparkle. The other side of her piece is my interpretation of graffiti art which I created using spray paint, acrylic paint and collage.

Each installation is for sale and comes with its soundtrack. Beatrix is the 6th installation of 13 from The Other-Side presents That Wall art project. Each installation is unique in its own way and features art on both sides, as well as their own song on a soundtrack that was created to make them all come alive.

Beatrix is all about the joys of life. Wherever she goes she has a knack for spreading positive vibes, getting people around her to smile and share a laugh or two and she always thinks about others. She is handmade out of polymer clay, her hair is made of feathers and I hand-painted her dress and made the little leather pockets. The other side of her piece is my interpretation of graffiti art which I created using spray paint, acrylic paint and collage.

Each installation is for sale and comes with its soundtrack. Fashion Week Review-London

top_nav_content_slot_lfw

London Fashion Week is considered the home of the young, the adventurous, and the up-and-coming. This year, designers showcased their collections in an amazing setting and the attending crowds came out dressed to impress. With many live musicians added to the mix to make the fashion come alive, every show was unique in its own way. Some showcases were so over the top that I suspect consumers might have felt a bit overwhelmed as they watched the shows and took in all the fashion and styling art gathered under one roof.

I see fashion as art on a large scale, and even though the designs are not always meant to walk off the run way onto the streets, a sharp eye can see that each individual garment offers many translatable possibilities. One of the shows that stood out for me and really intrigued me was from designer Anya Hindmarch. Her colour palette was fresh, colourful, and featured very beautiful details; I also felt that many of her pieces are totally wearable. But what I loved most about this show was the unique concept of the runway. It made me feel like some time capsule had just been opened and pop! out came the art. And the next thing you knew, the lid came down again and the art was gone, tucked away for us to think about until Spring/Summer 2017. Fashion Week in London was all about the artistic flair you can wear!

Installation 1: Larissa

Larissa is the first installation of 13 from The Other-Side presents That Wall art project. Each installation is unique in its own way and features art on both sides as well as their own song on a soundtrack that was created to make them all come alive.

Larissa is generous with her energy. She is the leader of her pack and her Independence is what guides her across the oceans and over the mountain tops. In spite of her love of travel, she will always be there when you need her by your side…

Larissa is handmade out of Polymer Clay; her clothes are naturally dyed and upcycled from a wool skirt I loved but that never fit me well, and with bits of suede and leather added to finish her look. The other side of the recycled panel has my interpretation of Graffiti Art using collage, acrylic and spray paint and some found objects. Each installation is for sale and comes with its soundtrack. In order to experience the full effect of the installation, please check out and the music video which will take on a journey through the full show.
