Billie was the second dog I ever had in my adult like (so not counting my family dogs). I rescued her when she was 3 years old from a very abusive situation. I had her for an amazing 13 years and she was a totally amazing dog – in fact even people who were not “dog people” loved her. She also was the first dog I ever had who actually smiled – and yes, this is her smiling! She smiled a lot and often, and I like to think it was one of the many ways she used to show me how much she appreciated being rescued. I loved her so much and miss her dearly. She is forever in my heart and now rests in peace after a long and wonderful life. xoxo ❤️

Everyone is talking about resolutions this time of year. Personally, I like to take the month of January to put some goals into action and prepare for new adventures on my horizon instead. I find that taking this kind of action in my life doesn’t bring on as much stress as the word “resolution” does – because we all know that life brings enough of that all on its own.
So here are some of my goals: Take more time to enjoy life to the fullest; continue to work towards being the strongest, healthiest and most energetic person I can be (which includes getting a handle on my smoking habit, and No! I did not say quit!); learn some new art techniques, and put as many smiles on as many faces around the world as possible through my art and this blog.
Now for the adventures part: I have a new art installation in the making called “Sense that Sin”; I have started a new venture called BalducciArt which is my newfound passion of creating in 3D through textile art – you will find a new page on my website just for them and will hear more about them in one of my posts… And as many of you might know, I have taken a position of co-producer with Expose Yourself (an art exhibition in Powell River) which is starting to shape up as a promising adventure you won’t want to miss! Stay tuned to get all the details as I will be sharing them as they unfold (or check out our website to learn how to SUBmit at https://eyexhibition.com).
On a more personal level, I am planning adventures at sea by spending as much time as possible exploring the water via boat and paddle board; I am determined to attend as many workshops as possible to keep exploring the infinite possibilities of art, and to take a trip somewhere with my sweetheart (in a plane) to deepen our common love of taking adventures together… and while I am at it, I will take this opportunity to share my philosophy for 2017: “It takes approximately 165 muscles to frown and only 6 to smile.” I know how I will choose to share my energy; do you?
The Path into 2017 is looking bright, intriguing, and it’s only uphill from here!!! Let your smile shine and share it worldwide because not only is it contagious, it can also change someone’s Path in the instant it takes to use the 6 small muscles and the little energy required to create that beautiful smile…
